Just got Adobe CS4 Master Collection, owanage
It's an interesting interface change in premeire pro. i soon changed that
has anyone played around with the new fetures yet? they look unneeded. i mean, why would you want a media browers when its allready in your "bin", if it not there all you doing is import it.

AfterEffects
Hey can you tell me something about Adobe After Effects CS4?
Is there a good reason for upgreading to AE CS4?

I don't even have any budget for the new program upgrade lol
I might not even be able to run it on my current PC. I still have a single core AMD 2.20GH Processor...
I would love to see the new interface though, post a screen shot.
There is a point to the media browser. The browser let's you access stuff on your drives. The files in your bins simply link to the main files on your drives. I personally always double click the bins window to import files...so the browser would not be used much by me.
I just got the demo on my laptop which is a fair machine however CS4 is just crushing it.
I played with the program for an hour and don't really see the need to upgrade from CS3 to be honest. I saw a few chances that I liked in terms of the effects but it wasn't much. They changed the timeline to look a little like Avid which was surprising. I didn't like how that part functioned though..
I'm sticking with CS3. I dont see the need to spend more money on something that works very well for my studio.
I am happy to say it works very well on Windows Vista though...
Primere cs4
Hey Sonicorbstudios, Just go to Adobe’s website and see a demo there. It does have some nice improvements. But IMO stick with what you know or currently working with. Unless you absolutely have to have the latest and greatest, I see no need for an upgrade just yet. Of course, if you know CS3 like the back of your hand and CS4 has improvements that warrant you spending the money on a new full or upgrade and you can benefit from it, by all means go for it. I'll stick with my CS3 PRODUCTION PREMIUM till the cows come home.
Best of luck
Ops... I just realized I pretty much echoed your post above. Silly me

if cs3 will run on your machine then cs4 will because you only need a processor with sse2 like with cs3.
Adobe After Effects crushes my machine lol. i can us it for about an hour tho, after that it just lags like hell.

I'm quite happy I just got a new processor for my desktop a few days ago. It's a huge improvement over my old stock processor.
Old processor - AMD Athlon 64 AM2 2.20GHz single core
New processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 3.1GHz dual core
I also got some new RAM getting me up to 4GB and high speed.
Premiere worked on my desktop before but started to hold back on playback even after previewing the timeline. Now I am working without any problems at all.
Yea I'm sticking with SC3 for a long while. I am very happy with what it does and I am not getting any income at this time so I should save my money anyways.

OoooOOOoooh... very nice. I briefly tried After Effects on a friend's computer... incredibly steep learning curve. getting all of the other applications is also very useful. I hope to see a lot of exciting stuff come from this! I hope to learn Shake soon, as I'm on a Mac. I was told once that it's like AE on steroids, but I dunno... I'll have to try it.

I am about to upgrade to the production CS4 suite. I really need to brush up on my after effects and other adobe stuff. Its been ages since I use premiere. I have most stuck with Vegas pro. Is the user face that different from CS3? I wanted the master suite but I do not think I can afford $2600 for it
Re: Just got Adobe CS4 Master Collection, owanage
I wouldn't recommend the master collection if your only going to be doing video editing and graphics. You'll never use all of the programs as i have found out still, it's nice just in case you need one or if you feel adventurous.
It look similar to CS3 but a bit they've changed the colors a bit and there are also a few more boxes and stuff. you can remove and add boxes though so it's exactly like CS3, that's what i did because i wasn't too keen on the new features. they look interesting but i can't really be bothered to play around with them to much. it works for me, that's good enough

The interface from CS3 to CS4 has not changed much at all. I too must catch up on After Effects. I have a class next month at the college to go over that program.

CS4...LOL
Well guys I did it last year for a tax write off. I bought the CS4 master suite. The problem is... it and my computer are at odds. Pro and encore just crash over and over and over again. I was on the phone all last week with their Support department. On friday they could not figure out what was going on with the two programs so a programmers is going to look at it and call me sometime this week. I have a feeling I'm going to be the cause of an adobe update patch..lol Anyone else had problems with the master suite CS4 and vista?
Re: Just got Adobe CS4 Master Collection, owanage
I do have issues with Adobe Ae and En, especially After Effects.
Firstly I had a weak pentium 4 with 3/4 GB of RAM, Win XP and a horrible video card (it was a Dell)
But now I've a Core 2 Quad, Vista with 4 GB of RAM, and a Nvidia 8800 GT video card, and I was surprized that the adobe stuff was actually running with less crashes on my old PC.
I've talked a lot at adobeforums.com about the issue, and there ware over 20 people who had exactly the same problem.
It turned out to be the combination on processor and vid card, the temporary solution was to download a Nvidia series 9000 vid card driver, but still I've got issues with it...

Re: Just got Adobe CS4 Master Collection, owanage
well I talked to adobe s higher up yesterday and THEY think its the graphics card now..lol I put the master suite on my laptop which is not as powerful as my desktop and the suite loaded fine with no crashes..lol Well I guess next week I'll be buying a graphic cards and seeing if it was the issue or not
Re: Just got Adobe CS4 Master Collection, owanage
if you have onborad graphics try running it through that. if it doesn't crash then it's unlikeyly to be an issue with your graphics card. if it does then get an ATI or nVidia graphics card chech on http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/dvhdwrdb.html for compatablilty before you buy but most will work anyway.
