ok i have a sony cx 500 i just got for christmas & i been tryin 2 upload videos to youtube using sony vegas 9 but when i try 2 get it 2 youtube, it saids un able 2 convert. i been trying for hours every day n its really fustrating. i was thinkin this might be the problem but i dont know cause im not an expert on this stuff but i think my camera has higher hd quality settings thats not lettin me get it 2 youtube. when i was tryin 2 get the videos on youtube. they were set to the best hq settings ( hd, HD FH) which saids avc hd 16m (fh). also under the hd settings you have HD HQ-avc hd 9m (hq),,,HD SP-avc hd 7m (sp). also i have sd quality but i didnt no if its good or bad so didnt try that. under sd you have sd hq- sd 9m (hq) sd sp- sd 6m (sp)

Sony consumer cameras....bleh! ........can you tell I'm not a fan? LOL

Ok so there are a few things that could be causing the problem. Youtube supports full 1080p HD so your camera is not shooting too high of a quality to upload.

Check your file output type
Make sure you are under 2GB in file size
Export as a Quicktime MOV or MPEG, don't just drag the raw data from the camera card, the AVCHD format is NOT supported.
