Green Screen material too dark? Empty Green Screen material too dark?

Hey Mark,
You're the person that single handedly got me moving along with my green screen production.
Your DVD set is great.
Quick question for you that Ive been wondering about...

I purchased my first green screen from tubetape (as recommended) and I happened to notice that the actual color of it is a bit dark when compared to other, green screens Ive come across.

Now, I normally wouldnt care, but I did notice that when I remove the blacks when doing my keying in premeire or after effects, I get kind of a mosquito/artifacting effect on my subject.
You can see an example here http://www.weclose.com/message/

(might have to squint, this is being nitpicky).

But I was wondering if this could be due to the green screen itself being a tad too dark, hence extra blacks in the green?

thanks!

Chroma keying can be tricky. The screens are in fact a little darker than the high end ones I've worked with in the past but it doesnt seem to make much difference.

I found Premiere doesn't key out too well but After Effects does so stick with that program to key. I also have found that using a higher end 3CCD camera makes quite a big difference in the image quality. I did a comparison between a high end Sony and low end Sony and put it on my YouTube page.

Your video looks like you are key out too much causing that "noise" in the image.

Lastly, don't light your screen too much or you will get bleed-though. Avid has an adjustment to fight this but even still, it's best to get everything setup and lit well from the start so its easier on the computer when you edit.

thanks dave!
Im still trying to perfect this whole process.
Im actually using a panasonic DVX and have played with after effects...
both give me that noise when i push the tolerance to the point of getting rid of ALL green.

I guess I have to tolerate some green halo if u want to avoid the noise.
