"Dancing On The Ceiling"...what's their secret?

Post  SonicOrbStudios on Mon Mar 02, 2009 1:55 am

So I've always been a fan of Lionel Richie but have always wondered how they filmed the music video for "Dancing On The Ceiling".
At some parts it looks like they could do with a flipped camera but at other points it doesn't make any sense.
I then thought they spun the whole room......which is a little crazy as it's huge....but then you see other parts in the video which suggest that this isnt how they did it...

Anyone here know how they did all the tricks in that production?

i think they rotate a small room and the crowd is infront of a blue screen.

I never thought about using a chroma key screen. The room rotating is a big task but it looks like that's what they did...
Yea now that I look at it some more it looks as if they did some chroma keying and with some careful cuts and tricks it looks very realistic.
