Anyone else notice this?

I was watching the food network last night and started noticing most of the shows on that network seem to have a strange glow to the image.

Specifically, The Essence of Emeril....You can see everything is very focused but there is a warm glow around whoever is on camera. I like the look but have also been wondering how and why they do this....
