Censor something in a video!

Post  davidprorc on Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:40 am

Hi! Can someone tell me how i can censor a face or a car number or anything that you don't want to be shown in your video
for example if i would censor a car number there comes a black box in fornt of it witch stays at the car number even when i move the camera, and the box moves/stays at the number!
Can someone tell me how i can do that, or tell me how i blur the box witch i think is much cooler! please if someone knows how i do thoose two things or even one please tell me!

Depends on the software you use. Some software you can track a white square and mask out a blur effect. I think AFter Effects would be best to use.

Probably you can.

Just google 'sony vegas motion tracking' or something in that direction, which is the way you could move the black box or blur around the screen.
another way is keyframing, which probably will be easier.

Hope this helps you, since do not have vegas experience...

yea every editing program will allow blurring...its just you have to figure out how to do it.
Try searching Google or the help files in Vegas.

In vegas you can duplicate the source you want to blur and put a mask on one track then add a mosaic blur to that masked out track. Rotoscope the mast position and you should be good to go.
