Has anyone done any green screen work outdoors? I have a project coming up next week that might require it, and was wondering if anyone has tried it, and what problems you ran into, and what you did to solve those problems. Only thing I can think of is lighting on the green screen. Outdoor light should be sufficient to light the subject. To light the backdrop, I was thinking of using 2 worklights, run from a generator far enough away not to affect the audio. Anyone have any better ideas?

So I've always been a fan of Lionel Richie but have always wondered how they filmed the music video for "Dancing On The Ceiling".

At some parts it looks like they could do with a flipped camera but at other points it doesn't make any sense.

I then thought they spun the whole room......which is a little crazy as it's huge....but then you see other parts in the video which suggest that this isnt how they did it...

Anyone here know how they did all the tricks in that production?

At school we got a project: we need to present the news! (hurray)

We have the idea to steal the background of a news flash and also footage and put our self in front of it.

But I don't want to mask all the stuff so we are using a screen!

My question is can you use a Red Screen Or White Or black screen if so which one is the best because we

don't want to buy a complete screen for 60 euro's for only one time. If the Red/White/Black is absolutely crap is there

How much does Color Temperature matter when lighting a green screen?

I presently have 2 main lights (with diffusers, and umbrellas), each consisting of 3 - 26 watt, 5500K florescent bulbs. However, this doesn’t seem to be enough light so I am looking at purchasing a couple of twin halogen work lights, each light consist of a 250W and a 500W halogen bulbs with a color temperature of between 2800 and 3400 degrees Kelvin.

I guess the question is just simply does it matter if mix color ...

Hey guys I am still learning lighting and this video really explained to me exactly what 3 point lighting does.

It is very informative.

Also they are selling a kit that they are demonstarting.

How does this kit compare to the mxlight kits from tube tape.

I really think its cool that he uses a gold reflector to reflect the light instead of using another light. The lighting is very good, and it saves on electic and added heat to the room, by using only one light and a reflector with ...

I know they don't sell this at Tube tape but it looks very cool.

The only down part is the subject has to be 10 feet away from the camera, but the results look stellar and keeps the green screen lit perfectly.

Its also pretty expensive compared to other methods.

Does this cause shadows though if you stand 2 close to the screen or not?

You still need 2-3 mxlights to light the subject. (3 point lighting)

But this takes care of the 2-3 lights you would need to light the green ...

Sony recommended that I purchase a capture card if I want to remove the slightly jagged edges around my chroma key video. Since your videos are the best I've seen on YouTube, I'm hoping you could tell me what video camera you used.

Also, did you use a capture card?

I'm using a Sony EX-3 and I'm surprised a camera of this quality would be limiting but I do understand the color sampling limitations with recording to the cards (due to compression) instead of SDI output. ...

Sometimes a file, wether it's audio or video, needs to be a specific file type, which means you may have to convert it.

The time consuming way is to of course just import it in your editing program, and then export it aut in another format.

These little programs are way quicker, just select the item(s) and target, and then press 'convert'.
